I’d never had much of an opportunity to indulge in a creative photoshoot collaboration before as I’d always been too busy with real weddings. This year though, the ‘Rona’ provided the perfect opportunity (free time) for me to work with some of the best in the business to create this Modern Boho inspired styled shoot at the fab Kilkea Castle.
The concept, planning, styling and florals are all the brainchild of the wonderful Frog Prince. What a visual pleasure for a photographer to behold!
Frog Prince “Our inspiration behind the styling and floral design was to paint a picture of a modern day bride with a taste for old world charm but a flare for color and modern design. We wanted to Inspire brides to look beyond fresh flowers and consider using preserved florals as an element to their floral design or for all their florals. Dried florals are not only one of the largest trends we are seeing in 2020 but they are sustainable, long lasting and have fantastic tones and textures that you can't replicate with fresh blooms. “
The gowns supplied by Sinead Corcoran at The One were truly beautiful, Sinead said: '“ A unique take on bridalwear, Alena Leena names her gowns after flowers and draws inspiration from their characteristics. Romance and femininity are at the core of her design process and these gowns have made an impression on our brides since landing at The One. We place focus on offering Irish brides a selection of gowns that are unafraid to push bridal style boundaries and gowns with couture crafting and sophistication. Monstera is a sleek bustier gown created with luxurious smooth fabric like that of a Monstera leaf. For the contemporary, chic brides. Aremreia features a corset with intricate drapery detailing and a full pleated tulle skirt. For the modern ,romantic brides.”
I have also recently become pretty obsessed by the pieces at One Dame Lane too, something a little different, handmade and natural pearls..hello! Keady row paired contrasting papers and simple black lettering which allows the paper textures to breathe and gives an organic, earthy feel.
Lorraine Brown hair was “inspired by the iconic Brigitte Bardot and her signature bouffant textured ponytail and lovely big floppy silk bow for a relaxed look perfect for completing your modern boho wedding style.”
Judy Wong gave model Caoimhe Fox a healthy glow. “Her eyeshadow was a blend of soft hues of mandarin, honey & on the centre of the lid a pop of sherbet. A creamy bronze eyeliner (Mac Kohl Pencil) lined the top lid and totally elevated the look. We used a gorgeous coral blusher (Laura Mercier) on the apple of Caoimhe’s cheeks and finished off using a (Bare Minerals) peachie nude gloss.”
Thank you so much to the brilliant team on the day especially Elaine at Kilkea Castle who is a wedding day master, a perfect host to brides and grooms for their gorgeous Irish Castle wedding dream!
